The Scottish Deerhound Club of America has a DNA Bank at the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC). All Deerhound breeders and owners are encouraged to bank their dogs’ DNA in the CHIC DNA Bank, because the more samples we have, the more research we can get done more quickly. It also makes things easier for owners, because most of the researchers with whom the club works can access CHIC samples, thus eliminating the need for owners to send samples to individual projects.
Information on how to send DNA samples to CHIC can be found here.
